Fabrizio (a.k.a. Fab) Caravaggio’s experience playing in the goal spans over 40 years. At an early age, he played in the All Star League in his hometown of Peterborough, Ontario, and went on to win the league Championship many times in the late 1970’s. In high school, he lead his team to win the City Championships, the Kawartha District Championships and even the Central Ontario Secondary School Championships. He then went on to play in the local Men’s League (the Kawartha Senior Soccer League) where he earned the MVP Award as a keeper in the mid 80’s. By the late 1980’s, Fab was invited to play at the rep level with the Peterborough City Soccer Association Men’s Team, and began to make a name for himself while playing teams from all over Southern Ontario. Throughout his college years, he gained valuable playing experience while playing on the Sir Sanford Fleming Varsity Soccer Team and playing other college and university teams from all over Ontario. At the same time, he continued to play in the local men’s league, winning the area championship a number of times. He went on to become the keeper for the Peterborough City Soccer Association Men’s 1st and Reserve Teams. Today, he continues to play in the local Old-timer’s Men’s Outdoor and Indoor Leagues. By 2003, Fab began to coach youth soccer in a variety of capacities. Through coaching, Fab developed an even deeper passion for soccer and the role of the goalkeeper. He started coaching his son’s rep level soccer team, focused on the requisite coaches’ training and has never looked back. He is an NSCAA and OSA certified keeper coach, holding all 3 youth levels and Respect in Soccer coaching certificates. Since beginning to train goalkeepers, Fab has quickly become one of the most sought-after goalkeeping coaches in the Kawartha Region of Central Ontario, holding keeper training classes and leading technical training sessions throughout the area. He currently trains goalkeepers for the local house leagues, the rep teams, the ECOSA (the Eastern Central Ontario Soccer Association) District Development Program and also our Trent University Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. Fab’s personal goals include continuing to learn and grow in his capacity as a goalkeeper as well as a goalkeeper coach. He is known for his kind manner, focused training sessions and pure love for the game of soccer!
